Resident Professional Development Program

The Resident Professional Development Program (RPDP) invites two (2) residents from each university to attend the SOGC ACM every year (depending on funding). Funding to attend this program is available through the SOGC.

Program Objective

The program benefits Ob/Gyn residents by giving them the opportunity to participate in scientific programs and leadership workshops and seminars to enhance knowledge and understanding of advances in health research, administration, health sciences and clinical practice, and thus be exposed to the most current information, trends and issues in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology profession. The program fosters the professional development of future leaders in health care and provides individuals with the opportunity to meet their peers from medical programs across Canada and abroad to exchange information regarding future careers and development in women's health care.

Program Responsibility and Follow-up

Once the program is completed, each participating resident must provide a full report to SOGC, as well as a full report and presentation to her or his medical school. Once SOGC has received all the leadership participants' reports, SOGC will merge all documents into one global report.

For more information about the RPDP, please contact your university's Junior Members Committee representative or Ms. Janie Poirier.

Deadline for submission of the two (2) residents is April 1st of every year to Janie Poirier at or call 1-800-561-2416 x262.

Note: The Resident Professional Development Program (RPDP) was formerly the Canadian Junior Member Leadership Program (CJMLP).
